1. IMPORTING and ALIGNING

1.Capturing an image from a 3dMD scanner creates a 3D ‘.tsb’ file.

2.To open a .tsb file in Morphanalyser, select “File -> Import TSB”. 3.To align the initial viewing position of a face, you need to use the 3 point orientate function. First you need to put three alignment points on the face in the following order:

1) Point 1 2) Point 4 3) Point 9

(see page 11 for the location of the points)

4.Click on “Orientate” button on the Toolbar menu or select “Orientate 3 point” from the “File” menu.

5.Click the ‘home’ button (house icon at the bottom left corner of Morphanalyser window) to see the set viewing position.

6.If the alignment of the face is too high or too low, you can adjust it to desired position by moving point 1 up or down and re-clicking the “Orientate” button (or “Orientate 3 point”) each time you change the nasion point’s location.

7.Click “Save” from the “File” menu once the desired position is achieved and save the image as a an ‘.obj’ file.

Note: Alignment can be done on any face at any point using exactly the same technique. If you find that one of your faces (for whatever reason) has an undesirable viewing position, re-align it using the same 3 point orientate function.
